Richard Lawrence Derzaw was born in Brooklyn, New York, and has built his career at the intersection of litigation and business counsel. He earned his B.A. magna cum laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1976 and his J.D. from Ohio Northern University, Pettit College of Law, in 1979.

Over the years, Mr. Derzaw has been admitted to practice in state and federal courts across the country, including the United States Supreme Court. He has served as a legal commentator on Court TV and as Federal Bar Counsel, and is listed in Marquis Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance & Industry, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in the East.
